TRUTH OR DEATH Page 2

There, she heard it with her own ears. That motherfucker Jacob was married. She watched as the couple made their way upstairs. She thought about things for a minute and within seconds, she was leaving the garage and stepping into Jacob's home. The home he shared with his wife and kid.

  Bedroom Secrets

Annabelle had learned a lot in the short time she spent in Jacob’s house. Pictures told the story of a family who seemed to love each other very much. There were photos of family vacations, date nights, and family reunions. Envy dripped from every breath Annabelle took. As she let thirty minutes pass before heading upstairs, she couldn’t help but wonder what kind of man Jacob was. How could he have all of this at home, yet live a double life with her? When she heard the giggling and splashing coming from upstairs, she slowly made her way up. With each step she took, the pain of another broken relationship slashed at her heart. She thought that finally, she had found her man. A real man who would never do this to her. She had been down this road of broken hearts before. She thought that the last time would be the last time, but men would be men. First, she came to the little boy’s room. She stuck her head in and he was fast asleep. She couldn’t help how she felt, she wanted to get an up close look at him. As she walked up on him, she held her breath. As soon as she looked into his face, her heart broke a little bit more. He looked just like his father. The night light hit his face perfectly. There it all was, Jacob’s lips, his hair, and his nose. She couldn’t help but want to touch him. She wanted to make sure that he was real. He was everything that she had always wanted with Jacob.

Annabelle leaned in and let her fingers grace his soft little cheek. He was beautiful, he was… Jacob. Standing there, lost in a wishful trance, she heard her voice.

“I’m coming right back, baby. I just want to check on Junior.” Annabelle had to pull herself away from the beautiful creature and had to think quickly. Her eyes darted around the room and the only place she had to hide was the closet. Jacob's mother stuck her head in the room, watched her little man breathe for a short minute, and then sashayed back to her husband. Again, Annabelle waited a little while before exiting the child’s room. She waited, and when she heard the sound of HER MAN making love to his wife, she had to see it for herself. She made her way down the hallway without being detected. She would see them as the light from their master bath cascaded against their bodies. She was on top of him, moving her hips to the beat of Jacob’s thrust. Annabelle watched with every little detail leaving an imprint of insanity in her mind. She watched how his fingers ran up and down his wife’s back, the same way his fingers would run down her own back.

Annabelle heard his moans and his soft whimpers. He sounded just the same when he was with her. As he flipped his wife over and got on top of her, Annabelle heard the very same words HER MAN would say to her.

“Damn, baby; I love you, baby. You feel so fucking good.” Feeling as if she was just shoved into the abyss of mental destruction, Annabelle decided that she had enough. Her legs felt weak as she descended the stairs. Her mouth was open as she silently screamed. She knew she had to get out of the house. She could barely stand the truth that she faced that night. Nothing would ever be the same again. On her way to the car, she checked the mailbox. Inside, she found a bill. She looked at the name on it and finally, she knew the real name of the man who had been sharing her bed for the past few years. Mr. Raymond Mitchell.

  Couple’s Therapy

Reverend Bell looked down at his watch. For the first time, she was late. Jacob looked down at his watch and then back at the reverend.

“I can try to call her one more time. If I don’t get an answer, I guess we can just cancel today’s session.”

“Have you heard from her at all today?” The reverend asked.

“I have spoken to her here and there, but for the last few days, it was only through text. She said that she wasn’t feeling well and had a really bad cold.”

“Did you go over to see her?” Reverend Bell asked this to see if Jacob had cared enough to check on his girlfriend.

“No, she told me to stay away so that I wouldn’t catch her cold. If anyone had a cold, I am always the first one to catch it, so I just told her that I would see her today.”

The reverend nodded his head as he wondered where Annabelle was. As Jacob dialed her number and waited as his rings went unanswered, the office door opened. Annabelle walked in, mumbled a low, “Sorry,” and walked over to Jacob. She wasn’t a total mess, but something was a little off with her. Her clothes seemed a little darker and it matched her mood. She wasn’t the playful girl who oozed sexiness on a daily bases, no, that day, she was very bleak. She didn’t sit; instead, she just stood in front of him and looked him dead in the eyes. She wanted to see if anything had changed about him. Would she see him for who he really was? Would she be able to look at him, take off the handsome mask, and see him for the pig that he was? She looked, and looked and looked. Finally, Jacob spoke up.

“You’re almost a half an hour late. I have been calling you. Where have you been?”

Annabelle almost didn’t answer him just to be disrespectful, but six days had passed since she discovered who he really was. She thought that maybe since she had a little cooling off period, she wouldn’t be so upset.

“Just had things to do, is all. How have you been though? Haven’t heard from you much in the last few days? Are you okay?” Her tone did little to hide the discontent she felt.

Reverend Bell sensed something different about her and maybe if Jacob wasn’t so stuck on her being late, he would have felt it, too.

“I’m fine, but you need to call if you are going to run late. You---.”

“What; should I show a little consideration for others? I should make sure to let them know the important things… like being late?”

Her stare was so intense that Jacob had to look away. He finally felt it, the thing that the reverend noticed the minute she walked in. He felt as if her eyes were throwing daggers into his soul and he couldn’t look at her any more.

The session was tense and the reverend felt it. For the first thirty minutes, Annabelle didn’t say much at all. For most of it, she just sent sharp stares at her lover Jacob. For the second half, she spoke here and there. She wasn’t all over the room, touching things, or bouncy. She was stoic and quiet.

“So, Annabelle, anything on your mind, anything bothering you?” the reverend asked. He watched her bite her bottom lip, frown, and after, a sly smile.

“Nah, nothing much, I just have one question.” She turned to Jacob and with the smile still on her face, she asked,

“Am I your one and only love?”

The room went silent. Reverend Bell felt as if the question came crashing into the room. Through her smile, he saw pain, a woman who just wanted the truth. Her tone said it all. Her smile really wasn’t a smile at all. Jacob, with what seemed to be a sincere tone, took his girlfriend’s hand and answered her.

“You are the only one for me, Annabelle; I told you that. There is no one else out there for me. I only love you.”

With those loving words, with that lying tongue, and within the couple’s therapy session, Jacob sealed his fate.

  Your Last Chance

As the couple left what would be their last in person therapy session together, Annabelle turned and asked the reverend for his card. She didn’t know at that moment why she would use it, but she took one just in case. In all her time going there, she had never bothered. The therapy was Jacob’s idea in the first place. She couldn’t believe that he had her doing that dumb shit, as if they really had a future, as if he was really going to marry her. That’s why they started to go. He said that if she were to be his wife, they would need to work on the problems that they already had.

As the couple rode in silence, Jacob was still having a hard time understanding Annabelle’s attitude. The whole week had been hard with her. She would barely take his calls and when she did, she hardly spoke.

“What in the fuck is wrong with you, little girl?” Jacob couldn’t take it anymore; enough was enough.

“Pull under the bridge and stop the car.”

“What; why?” Jacob was starting to think that something was wrong with her.

“Did you hear me Jacob? Please pull over. I have something I need to do.”

As the car came to a slow stop, Jacob looked at the girl he once knew and didn’t see anything familiar.

“Why did you ask me to stop here?” She didn’t answer. Instead, she pulled off her pants and got on top of him.

“Belle, this is crazy, what are you---?”

“Shut the fuck up and just look at me.”

Jacob did as he was told.

“We have been together for a few years now. I met you when I was 21 and you were 31. Now, five years later, with the same 10 years between us, I want you to tell me something,” she stopped talking and unbuttoned his pants. She stuck her hand in his boxers and pulled out his long pole, which had begun to harden under her touch.

“Tell me, why did you pick me? Why am I the only one for you?” Jacob was more concerned with her body than her words, as he answered. He should have thought more about the words that he was about to speak, but her body was calling him.

“I picked you because as soon as I saw you, I knew that you were a rare gem. I knew that I had to have you. As far as why you are the only one for me, well, I just wouldn’t be able to live without you.” Before he answered, Annabelle had been working her body against his rod, but as his beautiful lies slipped out of his mouth, she stopped. It was brief, but she just needed to look at him.

“Okay, so now, what I want you to do is, as you tell me how much you love me, I want you to fuck me. I want you to slide inside of me as you tell me that I am the only one for you.”

Annabelle leaned in and kissed him passionately, just as she knew he would want her to. She waited for him to glide inside of her and more importantly, she waited for his lies. “I love you, Belle. I need you Belle; you are the only one for me, Belle.”

Over and over, he spewed his lies at her. He told them so freely and she pretended to believe them. Their lovemaking slowly advanced to a cold hard fuck as Annabelle moved her hips out of anger. She lowered the back of his car seat and once he was in a lying position, she angry fucked him. He was a liar…a good lay, but a liar nonetheless. The closer she got to exploding, the more her hazy plan became clear. Jacob was scum and there was only one way to make him pay. As he enjoyed his afternoon liaison, Annabelle reached into his pocket, felt around and bingo, she found his wedding ring. She came as she slipped the ring into her left hand and held onto it until he dropped her off.

That afternoon, as Jacob went on to buy his wife flowers after screwing his mistress under a bridge, his mistress went shopping for the things that were needed for her mission. She made sure to meet up with a friend from her past and picked up the type of phone that she would need to teach Jacob’s ass a lesson, a lesson to die for.

  Mr. Officer

He thought that he was going to be the one to drag her to his mental hell, but she already had a one-way ticket. If everything went as planned, she would be leaving sanity behind and crossing the gates of madness willingly. She had it all planned out. Tape and ropes, check. Her lover’s wedding ring and his wife’s address, check. Two large duffle bags and her weapons of choice, CHECK! So, if the cop opened the trunk, she was going to have to get another duffle bag and really speed to make up for lost time.

“Yes, Officer, was I speeding?” She was talking to his crotch and from the looks of it, it was a mighty meaty crotch at that.

“License and registration?” He asked without showing his face. It didn’t matter, she was still checking out his goods. Once she searched both the car and her glove compartment, she found what he wanted. She stuck her hand outside of her car window and cursed under her breath as she looked at the time on the dashboard.

“You were doing 65 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone. That speed on this winding road plus the rain is nothing but trouble.”

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t notice. It’s just that my brother just went to the hospital. I wasn’t watching my speed, I’m so sorry.” She watched his massive hands wipe the rain off her license, and then lit it with his flashlight before bending over and finally letting her see his face.

“You don’t want to join him in there, do you?”

She wanted to tell him the hell off, but his smile was starting to melt the anger iceberg that was forming inside of her chest.

“Sit tight; I’ll try and make this quick.”

FUCK! She thought that him smiling and looking at her tits meant that he was going to let her go. She had to think fast, how would she get out of this? She could have just pulled off, but that would really delay her plans, plus he had her damn ID. Annabelle just prayed that nothing came up. Hell, she couldn’t even remember if she had insurance on the car. It was brand new, courtesy of her man, their man. Just the thought of him made her sick. There he was, in that car that afternoon, fucking her and lying at the same damn time. She just wanted the truth, just one damn truth in the sea of lies. He was a self-absorbed, money hungry, lying son of a bitch, and the more she thought about the last year few years of her life, the harder she white knuckled the steering wheel. He told her that he loved her, that she was his one and only, that there was no other bitch for him... lying ass.

Annabelle couldn’t help but think of her story with Jacob as she waited for the cop to come back. It seemed as if everything reminded her of him. No matter where she was, a scent, a visual, or even a sound brought thoughts of him rushing back to her mental. He was her everything. At times, she felt as if she couldn’t breathe without him, or so she led herself to believe. She met him by chance, as if it were fate. Her boyfriend at the time, a dope boy who thought he was too fly had stood her up. She had received a call from him as she waited with a glass of red wine at the restaurant. He told her a big deal had come up, code word in Annabelle’s mind for, I’m about to fuck another bitch. She knew his game; they both played it well.

“Fuck you, Travis, don’t bother calling me again.”

She had hung up her phone with him before, spitting out the same threats that he knew held no weight. She was about to get up and leave, but then she heard the voice.

“Did you really mean what you just said?”

He was behind her, in her ear. His breath tickled her and his voice soothed her broken soul. She didn’t even know what he looked like yet, but she knew she wanted to turn around.

“About him not calling me again? That depends.”

“On what?” he asked as he slid in front of her. He was dressed in a nice suit and was well-groomed. His brown skin was smooth. From the moment she laid eyes on him, she knew. She knew that she would never speak to Travis again. The dope boys were fun, but she needed a real man with a real job. She wanted Jacob.

“Uhhh, I’m sorry to tell you, but there is a problem with your insurance.” The officer stared at Annabelle as if he was trying to see her reaction. She sat still, not wanting to give him one, not wanting to do anything to tip him off. She knew that he was trained to sense uneasiness and turmoil. She knew that just the wrong tone or disgruntled look would give away the mission she faced ahead.

“Really? Well, this is a new car as you can see, and well, I thought that my ex took care of the insurance.”

He gave her the “that’s too damn bad ‘cause there’s nothing I can do for you” look before speaking. “I can’t let you drive without any insurance.”

FUCKKKKK! This dude was ruining everything. She could catch a cab to Jacob’s house, but that would be too risky. So as she sat there, her hand started to roam the space beside her. She knew that she had a knife there, something Annabelle always kept in any car she drove. It was small, sharp, and deadly enough to get the job done.

“I am going to need you to pull over and park your car under that tree. The car is going to hav
e to be towed.”

She sat there as if she didn’t hear him. Her anger level was at a ten as she slid her thumb down the sharp side of the knife.

“Please, officer…” She waited for him to fill in the blank with his name.

  “Jones, Officer Jones.”

“Officer Jones, there has to be a way to work this out. I have to get to the hospital; my brother is going into surgery, please.”

The officer stood there, knowing that he had to follow the law, but he also sensed the urgency in her voice. He was in a good mood and she was cute. He didn’t see the harm of letting this one get by. He didn’t want to be the one she thought of if something went wrong with her brother.

“Go straight to the hospital. I am going to give you a warning and let you go, but you need to take care of this first thing in the morning.” Annabelle smiled. She was thankful that she wouldn’t have to kill him or fuck him just to make it to Jacob’s house.

  One-Way Ticket

It was the moment of truth. Annabelle sat in front of her adulterating lover’s house and gave herself a second to think about what was about to go down. In those few seconds, the only thoughts that roamed through her head dripped with revenge. There was no going back so she rang the doorbell. She waited for Jacob’s wife to open the door and made sure to smile.

“Hi, I am Linda Corry. I work with your husband and he forgot to sign some papers at the office. I called him and he asked me to meet him here.”

Jacob's wife stood at the door with a puzzled look on her face.

“My husband is not home yet; he went to go pick up---”

“Junior? Yes, he did tell me that he may run a little late in meeting me here. That is one beautiful boy you have there.”

Annabelle watched as all concern left the woman’s face. A compliment always got you just one step closer to anything you wanted.

“I’m sorry; I shouldn’t have bothered you. I see you’re busy,” Annabelle said as she pointed to the potholders the woman held in her hand.
